Uruguay has its own unique breed of horse called the Criollo which is a small horse dedicated to working in the country side. These horses can be trained to a high level and can also participate in other disciplines such as Polo to which they are ideally adapted due to their size and agility.

Uruguay is situated on the east coast of South America between Brazil to the North and to the east of Argentina. The country consists of a low, rolling plain in the south and low plateau in the north.
It has 120 miles of Atlantic shoreline, a 235 mile frontage on the Rio de la Plata and 270 miles on the Rio Uruguay, its western boundary.
The country is located between 53 and 58 west and from 30 to 35 south. It has a total land of 68,037 square miles.
Getting there
Most international flights to and from Uruguay go through Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. From Europe, the most direct flights are from Madrid although the cheapest routes- which often take much longer – are often via North America.
